West Adelaide Remains Top

Anna Pritchard gave Salisbury Inter the perfect start, scoring after just two minutes when West Adelaide keeper Sarah Willacy poor clearance landed to Pritchard, who chipped the ball over Willacy from 25 yards out.

But it did not take long for West Adelaide to equalise, when Christie Hillyer levelled the scores midway through the first half, after a short corner found Alison Atkins on top of the box, who chipped the ball over Inter keeper Zafiro Papanikitas’ head, and Hillyer was on hand to tap in the ball from just before the goal line.

But in the end the two top sides couldn’t be split, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Adelaide City romped to a 4-2 victory over Metro United at TK Shutter Reserve, thanks to dominate display by Chelsie Dawber who scored her third hattrick for the season.

Roxanne Dodd gave Metro the lead in the 14th minute when a mix up in Adelaide City defence allowed Victoria Mansueto to shoot at goal, with Kendall Jenner saving the shot, but Dodd was on hand to slot the ball into the net.

Dawber level the scores when her shot cannoned the bottom of the crossbar and landed in the goal, while Daniela Di Bartolo gave City the lead just after half time after she pounced on the ball inside the six yard box.

And not long after, Dawber scored twice in five minutes to complete her hattrick.

Millie Scott scored a late penalty for Metro but it was not enough as Adelaide City ran out 4-2 winners.
