Dimitri Peppas

Top of the table Adelaide City hosts second placed Adelaide Comets in Round 19 of the National Premier League - SA competition at Adelaide City Park on Saturday evening.

Both teams drew their respective matches last weekend, with Adelaide City holding a five point lead at the top of the table.

Adelaide Comets hold a good record against Adelaide City at Adelaide City Park, with Comets having won 4 of their 9 first division league meetings at the venue.

The last time Adelaide City defeated Adelaide Comets in first division league was R10, 2017.

Adelaide United hosts Adelaide Olympic at Jack Smith Park, with both sides sitting just outside the top 6. Adelaide Olympic last beat Adelaide United in first division league in R17, 2017, when the match was awarded a 3-0 forfeit to Olympic due to a team sheet error. Since then, there have been six draws, while United won in R20, 2019.

At Marden Sports Complex, bottom placed Adelaide Blue Eagles welcome second to bottom Cumberland United with both sides requiring a win to help their chances of avoiding relegation. The last time Cumberland won at Marden Sports Complex over Adelaide Blue Eagles in first division league was R1, 2017.

Campbelltown City hosts South Adelaide at Steve Woodcock Centre, with the two teams battling to stay in the top 6. South Adelaide have only defeated Campbelltown City once in first division league, back in R15, 2014 (4-0) at Steve Woodcock Centre.

After going on a seven match unbeaten streak, MetroStars have only secured 1 point from their past 3 matches and have slipped to third spot. They face a Sturt Lions side hot on their heels in fourth spot. Both teams will be eager to win to assist them in trying to finish in the top 2 finals spot.

This weekend also will see first play second, third play fourth, etc. Thanks to Daniel Guastella for this interesting find!

Meanwhile, Adelaide Olympic goalkeeper Lewis Moss is set to play his 200th game in his next match, with Liam Bebbington (Salisbury United) set to play his 150th game in his next match.
